Portabella Pizza...
Tonight I made these delightful portabello pizzas. If you're craving pizza and can't "afford" the bread for whatever reason. Try this recipe!
~Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
~Place mushroom (stem removed) on a baking sheet, and bake for 5 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from oven.
~Put a thin layer of spinach and sprinkle with garlic powder
~Top with mozzarella cheese, green pepper, thinly sliced tomatoes, yellow peppers, jalapenos, or whatever your sweet little heart desires...
~Bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and golden.
You can also put a layer of pizza sauce first but the portabello is kind of runny as it is, so David and I warm up some pizza sauce and put it on the side. If you do not want pizza sauce, its DELISH without it as well...
Enjoy!!!

Sunday...
David and I had such a great weekend spending QT with the Burch's. Mom and Dad came to visit Sunday for David's birthday. We all took a ride to see J&J's new house, which is adorable! Then headed to Station 88 in Plymouth for a delicious dinner. We can't wait for next weekend for our trip to GR for some R&R... Unfortunately, I have to work Saturday so it cuts our time a little short.
David's Birthday Surprise...
In our opinion, the lady that made our wedding cake did a fantastic job and made the most DELICIOUS cake that we both had ever had. It was so delicious that just about every weekend we contemplate breaking into our cake topper that we are supposed to save until our 1st anniversary.
David mentioned to me about 2 weeks ago that ALL he wanted for his Birthday was Mary Lou's Banana Cream cake. Unfortunately, Mary Lou does not make birthday cakes. Just wedding cakes. So I thought just maybe I could talk her into it. I called and left her a sweet little voicemail explaining that all David wants for his birthday is her cake and if that is all he wants then I just have to get it for him, NO MATTER WHAT IT WILL COST ME! A few days later she called me back and said, I'm sorry I don't make birthday cakes, but because that's ALL he wants I will do it for you! I could have KISSED her through the phone. (deep down, that's all I wanted too!!!)
Friday after work I picked up the cake, brought it home and hid it in the closet. We went to Seoul Garden and I surprised David by inviting Jeff, Jacqueline, and Matthew to meet us for dinner last minute. After dinner we headed to the house for Cake, which David thought was from Costco. To his surprise we had Mary Lou's banana cream cake and I don't think he could have smiled any bigger. It was a small surprise but definitely the best surprise to David! We even caught Chewee sneaking a lick behind our backs...
God I just love these two so much....

Projects...
This month we decided its time to start some home improvement projects. Below is a picture of what our kitchen looked like when we first purchased our home. Definitely not our taste, and we just had to change it before we moved in.
Below, as you can see we tore out the pergo flooring and laid tile, we scraped off the wall paper border and painted the walls. Looks much better but we still are not happy with the cupboards and the lovely pink counter tops.
Today, we spent the whole day sanding, vacuuming, wiping down, and priming the cabinets. I don't know why we didn't just do this before we moved in. Sanding covers the whole house in dust. Luckly, I reminded David this time to put some plastic up in the entry ways so we don't get dust all over the house. This picture was just taken at 9:30 and we are wiped out. I can't wait to finish and pick out a new sink and counter top... What do you think so far??
