Bye Bye Cravings

With all the frustrations and stress I have acquired due to my high blood sugars, I decided I MUST do something to take charge and get rid of the cravings. My parents and I read the SB Diet book about 4-5 years ago now and decided it would be a good diet to try. The first phase of SB is just 14 days. I can do ANYTHING for 14 days right?? In the first phase you cannot eat ANY sugars or carbs. Huh, sounds like the perfect diet for someone like me with Diabetes. Since May 1st David and I decided to try the first phase of SB in hopes it will steer me clear from my overwhelming cravings for carbs and sugars. (luckily David can have birthday cake on his birthday, May 15th)

Since I was diagnosed my sugars have stayed pretty much between 250-400 most of the time. (they are supposed to be between 70-110) Since May 1st, my sugars have not been any higher than 130 YAY!!! Although I can feel the symptoms of low sugar some of the time, I can tell that I am starting to get used to having them in the normal range and the "low sugar symptoms" are fading. I am also not taking nearly as much insulin at each meal (only 1-3 units vs. 6-8 units at every meal) I am really excited for this and just had to share. Pretty soon I will be healthy enough for baby making :) and maybe, just maybe I will be able to control this well enough to not have to take insulin at all.
